Intel Alder Lake 14th Gen Processor
The 14th Gen Intel processors bring improvements over previous generations, offering enhanced performance through the use of improved Performance-cores (P-cores) and Efficient-cores (E-cores). These cores are optimised to deliver impressive results in both single and lightly-threaded tasks, as well as highly-threaded workloads. This optimisation allows gamers, creators, and professionals to unlock the full potential of their systems and elevate their experiences.
To provide you with a glimpse of the improvements offered by the 14th Gen Intel processors compared to the 13th Gen, the table below showcases some PassMark CPU Benchmarks. Higher numbers in the benchmarks indicate better overall performance, helping you understand the notable performance gains delivered by the 14th Gen processors.

These benchmarks demonstrate the improved performance capabilities of the 14th Gen processors, highlighting their ability to handle a wide range of tasks with increased efficiency and power. Whether you are a gamer, content creator, or professional user, the 14th Gen Intel processors aim to deliver a significant boost in performance and productivity.
ASUS PRIME Case
The A50 is enclosed in the gorgeous ASUS PRIME AP201 compact case, which is an ideal case for a fanless system as every single side has a large amount of holes that allow the heat to naturally dissipate. The case also features Tool-free panels, making accessing the insides of the PC a breeze!
Motherboard Features
The A50 Fanless is powered by an ASUS motherboard, which boasts cutting-edge components such as the Intel B760 chipset, enabling high-performance capabilities. With 2.5Gbps LAN and Realtek audio, this motherboard ensures seamless connectivity and immersive audio experiences. Accommodating a remarkable capacity of up to 128GB DDR5 RAM, it delivers excellent memory capabilities.
The B760 motherboard goes beyond expectations with its PCIe 5.0 support. Additionally, it houses two PCIe 4.0 M.2 ports, enhancing storage options and enabling fast access to data.
On the rear of the PC, you’ll find a diverse range of USB ports to cater to your connectivity needs. Among them, a Type-C USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port stands out, while an impressive total of seven Type-A USB ports operate at varying speeds, providing versatility for all your peripheral devices.
Storage considerations
When specifying your new PC’s storage options using our system configurator below, you will be offered a choice of drives which vary by price and capacity. There are two primary types of storage. A conventional hard disk drive (HDD) offers huge storage capacity for a low price, but it won’t be especially fast and it will generate a certain amount of running noise since it contains a constantly-rotating spindle. A solid state (SSD) or a M2 drive on the other hand, offer tremendous speed and absolutely silent operation, but they cost more than an HDD for any given capacity.
So if you need a lot of storage space (for videos or large quantities of digital photos for example), then we would recommend an HDD. On the other hand, if you prefer silence and speed (especially boot-up speed), then an SSD or M2 drive would be a better choice. Of course you can have more than one drive, so you could have the best of both worlds by choosing one of each! We recommend that customers chose an SSD or M2 drive as a boot drive that contains the operating system and important programs and a conventional HDD to store other data, but remember that if you intend to have a totally silent PC you might want to forgo the HDDs all together as they will make some noise due to their moving parts.
Clean Build™ Promise
These days, many pre-built PCs often rely on cash incentives from software companies to support their prices. These companies pay hardware manufacturers to pre-install limited or trial versions of their software, hoping that customers will eventually opt to upgrade to the full version. Unfortunately, this approach has a downside: it fills the new PC with unnecessary “junkware,” leading to an inflated operating system and performance issues.
At Quiet PC, we firmly believe that customers deserve the utmost performance from their brand new PCs. That’s why we proudly offer our Clean Build™ promise with every system we build. When you choose one of our PCs, we install only the essentials: the operating system (if requested), motherboard drivers, OS updates and Windows Security. Say goodbye to annoying pop-ups and nag screens. With our clean build promise you can immediately start using your new PC without the hassle of uninstalling numerous unwanted programs. Experience lightning-fast boot times and enjoy optimal performance for months and years to come.
Free hardware support and fully inclusive warranty
We offer free hardware technical support for as long as you own the machine. This support covers any hardware query or problem, including advice on maintenance and upgrades. We regret we can’t offer software support or training so we would recommend contacting the software vendor in this instance.
Our hardware warranty runs for at least two years and is “collect and return” meaning that you don’t need to worry about getting the machine back to us - we will instruct our courier to collect it from you on a day of your choosing, then after we have checked and repaired it we will send it back to you by express courier at our expense. In addition, unlike many other PC suppliers, we have an “open-case” policy which means you are free to open the machine and perform your own minor modifications or upgrades without worrying that your warranty might be affected.

Customer Reviews
Powerful and sustainable computer
Apart from surfing the internet, I use my computer mainly for photo editing, but not for gaming. For a replacement of my 14 years old i5 desktop, I looked for a machine that could be used just as long, but is less noisy and consumes less power.
After some researching, I ordered an A50 Fanless i17 D5 with an Intel i7 14700T CPU, 64 GB RAM, a fast SAMSUNG 990 PRO SSD and a Thunderbolt 4 expansion card. Delivery was as fast as promised and the PC arrived well packaged with all unused spare parts from its components. That’s nice because the extra power cables could be useful for installing upgrade components.
When I tried to transfer data from an external HD drive, I noticed that the two USB-A ports at the front did not work. A look into the case showed that the cable was connected to the ports and neatly tied away, with the connector to the motherboard dangling loose. I suspect it came loose when I pulled out the foam package that had been placed between the PSU and the CPU cooler to protect the cooler during transport. Plugging the loose connector into the motherboard socket solved the problem. I really appreciate Quiet PC’s open case policy, which allowed me to open the case and fix this problem myself without jeopardizing the warranty.
Out of curiosity I ran the Passmark benchmark and was positively surprised to get a CPU passmark score of about 46400. That’s almost 50% higher than the average score I found for this processor in Passmark’s database and an impressive result for a CPU with a maximum power rating of 106 W. The Passmark scores for memory and disk performance were also very good.
The PC’s power consumption, measured at the mains plug, is about 30 W when idling windows, reached 60-80 W when running the Passmark tests for graphics, memory and disk, and peaked at about 160 W in the compute intensive CPU test.
The great overall performance of the system shows up in typical tasks such as a virus scan. A complete virus scan of the entire system with Norton 360, which used to take hours on my old computer, is now completed in less than 3 minutes for scanning almost 900.000 files with 770 GB of data. Power consumption during the scan was less than 60 W for most of the time with a short peak at about 120 W.
And, as promised, the computer is really silent. The only audible sound is a faint click at the end of the shutdown.
This is the computer for powerful but sustainable computing that I was looking for.
Truly silent and fast enough for me.
This neat looking PC was assembled very tidily by Quiet PC. Spare connecting wires were tied up with “Velcro” straps which made it easy to use them when I added 2 SSDs from my old PC.
I don’t use it for gaming but plotting 14 days worth of 6 room temperatures read every 2 minutes (>60,00 points) on an Excel chart is now done in a few seconds. It remains cool at all times.
Luxury for a nerd like me!
