Thermalright Ultra-90, CPU Heatpipe Heatsink

The Ultra Series features a patent-pending design of the fins. In every corner of every fin, a winglet is created. This bending of the corners creates an increased air pressure and in return decreases air resistance, so even with a low RPM fan you get massive air flow through the fins. The user can attach any 120mm fan or 92mm fan (depending on cooler) and watch those high CPU temperatures go way down. With a low fan RPM, the cooler is extremely quiet but performance remains, which is what you would expect from a high-end CPU cooler.

Ultra 120-Extreme, Ultra 120 and Ultra 90

Each heatsink uses U-shaped heatpipes to transfer the heat from the base of the cooler up and through the attached fins, maximising the heat transfer. But that’s not all, due to the winglet design mentioned earlier; it also increases the surface area. All these features translates into more cooling power than any other Thermalright CPU cooler.

Product Differences

The differences between the Ultra 120 and the Ultra 90 are simple to see. The Ultra 90 is smaller and therefore offers less cooling compared to its bigger brother. The main advantage of a smaller cooler is that there are less compatibility issues, in fact the Ultra 90 should fit any motherboard.

The differences between the Ultra 120 and the Ultra 120 Extreme are not so easy to notice. The heatsinks are virtually identical with the only difference being that the Extreme version has two extra U-shaped heatpipes. These additional heatpipes help to transfer the heat away from the CPU even faster, making it Thermalright’s most effective CPU cooler to date!

Ultra 120-Extreme - Compatible with Intel LGA775 and AMD AM2 socket. Socket 754/939 owners will require the S939 Bolt Through Kit.
Ultra 120A - Compatible with Intel LGA775 and AMD AM2. Socket 754/939 owners will require the S939 Bolt Through Kit.
Ultra 90 - Compatible with Intel LGA775 and AMD 754, 939. AM2 owners need to purchase a separate AM2 Kit, available here or the AM2 Retention Module.
