Customer Reviews

Good but flawed

,

Used internally the amp picked up on HDD seek noise and sent it through my speakers, though admittedly the HDDs were immediately adjacent to the amp. Used externally the amp is a good little performer, though the needles on the front gauges don’t move even with the amp cranked - I’ve only seen them move at all when the amp is switched on or off (with the associated speaker thump).

Surprisingly Good!

,

It was unfair of me to have low expectations of this little amp, and I’m really glad I gave it the chance. I’m using it externally, not in a bay, in an attempt to keep it furthest from sources of electrical noise. I bought it at the same time as KroCraft desktop speakers and am using it with them.

Sound quality is very good (for a solid state amp). I’m happy and it goes above and beyond what you need for a desktop amp. Input selections, tone controls, headphone socket, mute button and front facing input are all appreciated.

The USB power socket is a bit random and unnecessary, but a welcome addition all the same. Likewise I don’t really expect to touch the tone controls - its for a PC and I’ve already got software EQ but its nice to have them there.

It came with all of the cables pictured - including the 2-pin mains plug rather than the 3-pin used in the UK - but its a standard figure-eight cable so easy to replace.

Overall a great desktop stereo amp.
