ASUS Triton 70 Quiet Slim CPU Cooler

The problem with many of the high-end CPU coolers these days is that they are so large. This often means they are too large to be used in Media Center systems where a smaller cooler is required. The ASUS Triton 70 address this issue.

Due to the fan blowing air horizontally it is able to utilise the space directly above the CPU with a tower of aluminium fins. These fins are connected to three U-shaped heatpipes that transport the heat away from the CPU quickly and efficiently.

Another important factor about the fan is that the blade sizes are that of a 92mm fan but it has the mounting holes of a 80mm fan. This allows you to install a bigger fan which can produce a larger amount of airflow at a given noise level compared to a smaller sized fan. ASUS have also made it possible to install two fans onto the cooler for even greater performance.

Compatibility wise the Triton 70 is very versatile. Intel’s LGA775 and AMD’s AM2/939 are all supported. The cooler is extremely easy to install with no motherboard removal required.
