A great choice
I waited a few days before writing this review. But from the start I was delighted. The Nofan A460, configured with SSD, is indeed completely silent, and has remained constantly cool. You have to get used to not having a fan breezing away next to you, but it is extremely pleasant. I use the PC as a music server. Silence is golden. Performance-wise, I am very happy. I also use the PC for photo editing, which it does quickly and efficiently. In general, with Windows and programmes on an SSD, start-up and shut-down times are extremely fast.
One final note to express appreciation for the staff at Quietpc. My initial questions were answered quickly and clearly, helping me to make the right choices.
I would recommend Quietpc without reservation.
Peace at last
Very happy with this.
I ordered it with an i5 4670 and a passively cooled HD7750 graphics card. In normal use, and even when gaming, the passive cooling is sufficient. For example, the 3dmark benchmark suite gets the cores up to 63°C and the GPU up to 73°C (and scores 2158 on the Fire Strike test). It is possible to get the CPU temperature to reach 100°C if you run something really demanding, resulting in a loss of processor speed, but I'm happy to trade that for the silence.
My only gripe: The power button on the case is spongy and unresponsive, but as the system can be powered on and off from the keyboard, this can be worked around.
And I have to say, the service from QuietPC has been awesome.
Great service, great product
Good to be able to talk direct to people and exchange emails to get pre-sales advice. Purchased a pre-configured NoFan i7 system with SSD, HD and fanless graphics card, running Windows 8 Pro. System arrived very quickly. I'm really pleased with the PC, easy to setup, good build quality - 'silent power' - no more noise!
