Nexus Clodius Ventilation Pro PC Case

The Nexus Clodius Ventilation Pro Series is a great case to build an optimally ventilated computer with style and substance.

The Nexus Clodius Ventilation Pro Series is a great case to build an optimally ventilated computer. The Clodius case is equipped with two Real Silent 120mm case fans (black/white version) which are mounted with ultra soft silicone fan mounts to prevent resonance and vibration. When more airflow is needed you can mount an extra 80, 92 or 120mm fan on the ceiling of the case and/or an 80mm fan at the unused PCI slots. The soft rubber feet prevent overall resonance of the case.

One of the unique features of this case is the illuminated fan controller. Inside the case is a temperature sensor which measures the internal case temperature. When the controller indicates blue then the inside temperature is at its lowest and the controller can be set to run the fan(s) at their slowest speed(s).

When the case’s internal temperature rises the controller will turn violet. When you notice this, you can improve the internal conditions by setting the fan speed to medium to increase airflow and cooling. If the temperature inside the case rises too high, the controller light will turn red and it is then advisable to set the dial at or near full speed. The two pre-installed fans will then spin at up to 1700 RPM and will push a massive amount of airflow through your system.

This will guarantee optimal silence where possible and superb cooling where necessary!

Customer Reviews

Cheap price. Stock fans poor. But I'm really quite pleased.

,

Bought two. Standard fans are poor - only one would I consider quiet. One bad clicking at min speed, two with some clicking. I’ve got 4 nexus basic fans in each instead which are QUIET. 4 holes added in the base allowed the fourth to be added as other intake. If you use an ATX motherboard this may need offsetting to allow access to the normal connectors at the bottom of the MB. Saw the comment about the roof fan space; I just manage to fit a 120mm fan plus an OCZ Slipstream 850w plus samsung lightscribe dvd-rw.

Also used Mugen 2s which just fit (2 mm clearance posted earlier would be a dream) is under 1mm in my case. Case materials thin and no room behind MB or behind back panel for cabling so time consuming to be neat, but the case is tiny vs an Antec p183 and well under half the price even allowing for fan replacements. For the price pretty good and the result is an OC 2500k @ 4.5 that is quiet but sort out your own HD mounts (e.g. suspended elastic) to limit case vibration. Cheers S.

Great Case. Very Quiet.

This really is a great case, and very good value. Very quiet. Fans silent. Make sure you buy a quiet hard disk too or else this will reverberate through the case. Access is very good, although DVD/CD drive slots must be accessed from the front by unclipping the front panel (rather than unscrewing) which was not immediately obvious. Very sturdy and well built. Would highly recommend.

Looking for value for money enclosure? You just found it!

To start with just remember how much this case costs. It’s not perfect but it is well on the way!

The case is really well ventilated, access to the rear of the motherboard for mounting heatsink support plates is brilliant. Although cable management is basic it is effective, watch the space if you intend to fit a big heatsink - my Scythe Mugen 2 has less than 2mm clearance on the case width. Also all the panels come off, a boon if you put the motherboard in before the PSU.

As for the top mount for a 3rd fan, if you have a reasonable PSU and a DVD in the top slot, I doubt you will fit anything larger than an 80mm unit.

Is there a downside? Yes. The Molex power plug that drives the in built fans is poor, the pins are loose and wobbly (I have three of these cases and it’s the same with them all). That’s it, my only issue. Having said that once the fans are connected the molex can be tucked out of the way and you can forget it’s wobbliness.

Great case for a great price.
