NT-H1 Thermal Compound
Noctua's much-acclaimed NT-H1 is a pro-grade TIM solution that provides minimum thermal resistance, excellent ease-of-use and outstanding reliability.
Special Edition Premium Kit
Bundled with a tube of NT-H1, two exquisite NF-B9 fans and the new SecuFirm2™ multi-socket mounting system, the NH-U9B SE2 forms a complete premium quality package that's backed up with 6 years manufacturer's warranty and contains everything you need in order to achieve superb quiet cooling performance.
Special Installation Considerations
Due to the orientation of the socket on AMD motherboards, the fans on the cooler will usually face the top and bottom of a standard tower case. To enable the cooler to rotate 90 degrees so that the fans face the front and back of the case, you would need the free Noctua NM-A90 mounting kit. This can be obtained by filling in this form on Noctua's website.

Noctua NH-U9B SE2 Dual Fan Quiet CPU Cooler, Intel and AMD
Be aware these are fixed speed fans - there is no PWM wire. Two extra sets of wires are provided, which reduce the speed from 1600 rpm, to 1300 or 1000 rpm.
At 1600 rpm the fans are a similar volume to the Intel stock fan they replaced.
At 1000 rpm they are quiet - about the same volume as my hard disk.
The direction of air movement is from blade to motor, and is marked on the fan case.
I put the cooler on a Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H rev 1.0 board, socket 1155 with all 4 memory slots filled, and followed the instructions for socket 1156. By fitting the wire clips between the vanes of the radiator, I could move the fans up by 1cm to clear the memory chips. With the computer not doing much, cpu temperature dropped from 34C (with the Intel cooler) to 24C at 1000 rpm.
Amazing piece of engineering
Amazing piece of engineering. Beautifully built. Oozes quality.
Virtually silent at default RPM. Memtest86 Core i5 2400 = 26C, ambient 24C !
Showed the whole office, one guy said it should cost £1000, it really is that impressive. Beyond me how they make this for diddly squat. We’ll be installing them on all future office PCs.
Noctua NH-U9B SE2
Ordered this CPU cooler - mainly because due to is low height it would fit in my PC case. Arrived a day after ordering. Fitting is not for the feint-hearted as in an existing system you need to remove the motherboard but only took about 40 minutes and the instructions are very clear. Now it is fitted system is extremely quiet – most noise now comes from my hard disk (saving up for an SSD). Service from Quietpc.com was excellent in every way.
