KingSpec KSM-mSATA.5 Solid State Disks

These Mini-SATA drives can be installed directly on a motherboard which has mSATA support, offering a convenient and neat way of installing a small system drive.

A lesser-known type of SATA interface is Mini-SATA or mSATA which was invented by Intel. It was designed to allow storage devices (primarily SSDs) to be installed in small form factor PCs and laptops. More recently, the standard has been adopted by manufacturers of desktop motherboards as a convenient, neat and cost-effective way for customers to install a fast system drive directly onto the motherboard.

KingSpec’s mSATA drives offer a simple and easy way of adding a drive to a laptop or desktop machine and are available in several capacities which are easily big enough to store a complete operating system with ample to spare. The PC can use the mSATA drive as its only storage device, or a second full-size SSD/HDD can be added in order to increase storage capacity. mSATA drives are also usefully used in ultra-compact form factor machines such as the Intel NUC.
