Zalman CNPS9500-AM2 Aero Flower Cooler

First there was the CNPS9500-LED and what success that has proved to be! Then the CNPS9500-AT for Intel only graced our shop. Now Zalman have introduced a new version of this excellent cooler, the CNPS9500-AM2. Performance-wise, this cooler works in exactly the same way as the CNPS9500-LED. It is supplied with a standard 3-pin fan cable and a FANMATE2 to allow you to control the fan speed.

The most striking difference between the other versions and this new AM2 cooler is the finish of the product. The CNPS9500-AM2 has been given a makeover. Instead of the plain copper look it has been nickel plated which gives it a more sophisticated look and feel. In addition, the opaque fan has a green LED, which is great if you like to show off your internal components.

Compatibility Issues

The reason Zalman have used the “AM2” suffix is because this CNPS95000 is compatible with AMD’s AM2 socket. The new mounting clip has been designed to make it possible to install this cooler onto any AM2, 754, 939 or 940 motherboard without having to remove it from the chassis, which is not possible with the CNPS9500-LED version.

PLEASE NOTE: LGA1366 compatibility is only possible when used in conjunction with the ZM-CS4A, and LGA1156/LGA775 compatibility is only possible when used with the ZM-CS5B, both available separately.

Features

  1. Ultra-quiet opaque fan with green LED
  2. Recommended by nVidia for nForce
  3. All other features and benefits are the same as CNPS9500-LED
  4. Socket LGA1366, LGA1156, LGA775, AM3, AM2+, AM2, 754, 939 and 940 compatible
  5. LGA1366 compatibility with ZM-CS4A and LGA1156/LGA775 compatibility with ZM-CS5B

Reviews

  • PC Format

Whether it’s extreme overclocked shenanigans or stock performance with massively reduced noise and operating temperatures, a decent heatsink such as this new Zalman model will utterly transform your prized proccie.

  • PC Plus Magazine

The clever design, which sucks air through a tunnel of heat-dissipating fins and over a series of figure-of-eight heat-pipes, really looks after your CPU. If you’ve got space in your case, you won’t find a much better cooler on the market.

Does the job in style

,

I have used this type of Zalman cooler for a few years now and they have never let me down. They are quiet and even though they are not cheap they are still good value for money considering their quality.
