Scythe S-FLEX 80mm Fan (1000 RPM, SFF80A)
“80mm version of Scythe popular S-FLEX fan!”

Equipped with Genuine S-FDB Bearing
This fan is equipped with genuine S-FDB (SONY Fluid Dynamic Bearing) made by SONY corporation.
Market Leading Low-Noise Level
S-FDB technology drastically eliminates the friction between the bearing and the shaft which makes this fan nearly inaudible to human ears. An additional suction magnet optimises the magnetic force balance within the rotor to achieve the quietest operation. Furthermore, the fan is equipped with the Linear drive IC for reducing electromagnetic noise.
Outstanding Long Life of 150,000 Hours
Patent Pending "S-FDB" structure allows the fan to last up to 150,000 hours!!
Anti-Shock Ability
Conventional ball bearing carries a point contacting structure for the rotation, which gives point supporting situations at dropping impact to damage ball bearing surface which could cause irregular noises. The S-FDB carries a surface contact mechanism for improved anti-shock structure, which is five times stronger than a conventional ball bearing.

Just installed this fan this morning. Was very easy to install, although there were not any instructions supplied with the fan. The fan is insanely quiet. I had to put my hand behind it to make sure it was actually working! Before I installed the fan, my CPU core was running at around 53-56 Celsius. Now I'm measuring 40-46 Celsius. [Note - I was using the software 'Core Temp' for these measurements.]

Excellent fan. I bought two for a HTPC build, so fan noise isn't something that would be tolerated. Even with both fans running, there is no additional noise from the system at all and the CPU and GPU temps have dropped 10 degrees each.
Would buy this fan again and thanks to Quiet PC for a speedy delivery.

I bought 3 of these fans to put into each of my 5in3 HDD storage cages. The fans that came with the case made it sound like a hairdryer. I replaced them with these and now the NAS I built is silent. I down volted the 120mm and 2x140mm case fans to 5v and 7v respectively, I could run these 80mm S-FLEX at 12v and still not hear them. Really impressive fans!

Really very, very quiet. I was concerned about the low volume of air the fan shifted BUT it managed to take the hard drive temperature down from 45c to 32c, and has helped to reduce the overall temperature in my SFF - result. Okay so I'm fortunate in that the fan draws in outside air straight over the drive but still impressed.

The only sound you'll get from this fan is the gentle whoosh of the air. Nice!
