Xilence strive to bring quality products to the market without the expected price tag. Their new X1 and X2 cases are no exception.

Xilence X1 and X2 Cases

The layout of the X1 and X2 cases is somewhat different to a standard case. Firstly, the PSU is installed at the bottom of the chassis. This aids in reducing the ambient temperature inside the case. Secondly, the motherboard is installed on the opposite side of the case. This means instead of the CPU being towards the top of the case it is located in the middle. The final design difference is the red ducting. The ducting is designed to bring the cooler air from outside the case to cool the internal components. This makes sure that you get the best possible temperature because the air outside the case tends to be much cooler than the air inside the case.

Product Differences

The main difference between the two cases are the way they look. The X1 has a hydraulic door which hides the 5¼" and 3½" drives bays, while the X2 has them exposed. Internally they are identical.

Compatibility

Due to the ducting, these cases are only compatible with CPU coolers that are 90mm tall or smaller. The ZEROtherm CF, Scythe Samurai, Zalman CNPS7500 and CNPS8000 are all suitable. If you want to use a vertical cooler then the ducting would require moving.

PLEASE NOTE: These cases are not compatible with graphics cards that span two PCI slots, for example ATI 3870 X2 and NVIDIA 9800 GT2/X.
