Zalman CNPS7000C Super Flower Cooler
- Replaces the Zalman CNPS7000B Super Flower Coolers“The original makes a comeback - big brand and classic design. This is quality cooling revamped at an affordable price.”
Now supplied with FREE ZM-CS5B clip to provide compatibility with Intel LGA1155/6 motherboards, for retail customers only.
Zalman's famous "super flower cooler" makes a surprise re-appearance! The original design has been updated, made lighter, slicker and with its best pricing ever. It is now a "one for all sockets" design, meaning the same cooler can be used on your Intel (775) or AMD (AM2/754/939/940) processor. As you would expect, the CNPS7000C operates virtually silently at its minimum fan speed setting, but yet offers excellent cooling. Its 92mm fan is completely enclosed in the heatsink fan arrangement, making the cooler easy to install.
PLEASE NOTE: LGA1155/6 compatibility is only possible when used in conjunction with the ZM-CS5B, free to retail customers only.

When I ordered this, I assumed that since stock coolers seem to all be PWM now, and since there was nothing to say otherwise, this cooler would have a 4-pin connector and support PWM. In fact it has a 3-pin connector, and the *only* way to regulate the speed is manually using the included fan-mate.
I'm not a gamer. I encode some videos occasionally, but not enough to care that much about noise at full load. I have a noise sensitivity issue, but it's mostly only a problem with long-term noise. I wanted to reduce fan noise when idle.
This cooler can keep the my CPU (Athlon 2 X4 645) below 60 degrees with all four cores at 100% load, even with the fan-mate near minimum - and this is certainly *far* quieter than the stock cooler at max. But the minimum speed is about 1300 rpm, and for safety I'm running it at 1500 rpm, whereas my stock cooler spent most of its life around 1000 rpm. At idle, the noise reduction is small.
On the plus side - a *lot* easier to fit than I expected.

No complaints about this excellent product. It is as quiet as its manufacturers claim it to be. It is as energy-efficient as its manufacturers claim it to be
