The physical design of PC power supplies has not changed very much since PCs were invented. They have always been self-contained silver boxes located inside the PC case. Several microcomputers of the 1980's used external power supplies but as power requirements increased, eventually all computers used internal power supplies for convenience.

Now at last we are proud to announce a radical departure from conventional PC PSU design. The NesteQ Nova 600W power supply is a fully self-contained external unit, designed to be located on or near your PC. No longer does the heat produced by your power supply raise the internal temperature of your PC! In addition, the unit's backlit LCD gives a constant readout of temperature, power output and voltage on the 12V line.

Another advantage of the Nova's external design is that it is very easy for the unit to dissipate unwanted heat. This means that it is silent running almost all the time! The unit does have an internal fan, but it is used only when absolutely necessary, and even then it is virtually silent because its speed varies according to temperature.
