Acoustic Damping Materials for Ultimate Noise Reduction!

For pricing and availability, please click here or order at the top of the page

We have tried many sound damping materials in the past, but they have made little or no difference to the noise coming from the computers we've tested. Now things have changed! We are proud to announce some innovative products which are highly effective and easy to install - you'll find the reduction in noise is immediately noticeable!

The noise from your computer can be broadly classified into two types - mid-to-high frequency "airborne" noise from items such as fans and hard drives, and lower frequency "structure-borne" noise originating from the same devices, but amplified by the case. Most acoustic matting materials are not effective because they only address one of the two types of noise. Our products are effective because they provide a solution to both airborne and structure-borne noise, effectively absorbing higher frequencies, and reducing case amplification effects.

AcoustiPack Standard Acoustic Material Kit

For pricing and availability, please click here or order at the top of the page

AcoustiPack™ Standard is an acoustic damping material kit which is not only acoustically effective, but cost-effective too! Several companies have recently tried to produce cost-effective sound-proofing kits, but in our view, the quality has always been disappointing. The result is usually nicely-presented, and maybe nicely-packaged, but the reality is that these kits are acoustically less effective due to either low quality lightweight material, or meagre material sizes.

  • 3 x Acoustic Composite sheets - 7mm thickness (2mm Acoustic Barrier Mass and 5mm Acoustic Foam)

AcoustiPack™ Standard

The unique Acoustic Composite material has been specifically designed to have a low-reflection upper surface, and high-absorption lower mass to absorb remaining sound energy. Sound energy is captured and absorbed, to a degree, within the acoustic foam upper layer. Remaining sound energy reaching the very dense mass layer at the base of the composite is then converted to thermal energy at a molecular level. This process occurs at a very small scale, and involves very low levels of kinetic energy, so does not result in a noticeable increase in temperature.

For the customer who wants a top quality acoustic material solution on a budget, look no further than AcoustiPack™ Standard! This product offers outstanding noise reduction and amazing value. The secret to its success is a unique two-part composite material which offers both the low reflection and absorption properties of professional studio-grade acoustic foam, and the high attenuation of a very dense underlying layer. This is the most effective noise reduction method, and for it to be available on a so-called "budget" material pack we think is amazing!

AcoustiPack™ Standard contains three generous-sized sheets of acoustic composite material, which can be easily cut to fit any size case. The product is perhaps especially well suited to smaller cases where thinner acoustic material is required and internal space is restricted. The upper foam layer can be compressed down to approx. 1mm if necessary, making the overall material compressible down to approx. 3mm in thickness. The pack comes with comprehensive installation instructions, and instructions with photographs are available online.

AcoustiPack Deluxe (v2) Acoustic Material Kit

For pricing and availability, please click here or order at the top of the page

Following on from AcoustiPack™ Standard is the Deluxe version. Quite simply, this is the last word in acoustic material kits - for customers who demand the very best, here it is! This pack contains a set of three large self-adhesive sheets of acoustic composite, the thickest of which also features the unique AcoustiContour™ surface, and also three acoustic foam drive blocks.

AcoustiPack™ Deluxe v2 offers two slightly slimmer acoustic composite sheets than in the original version, which will allow for more material to be installed in confined areas and also save on unnecessary waste. The third sheet in this revised version is a thicker acoustic composite (17mm) that also features the AcoustiContour™ anechoic surface for improved acoustic absorption where space allows. AcoustiContour™ is an advanced acoustic surface designed to minimise sound wave reflection by increasing the foam surface area by 45%. This is similar to the method employed in recording studios and anechoic chambers.

  • 2 x Acoustic Composite sheets - 7mm thickness (2mm Acoustic Barrier Mass and 5mm Acoustic Foam)

  • 1 x Acoustic Composite sheet - 17mm thickness (2mm Acoustic Barrier Mass and 15mm Acoustic Foam) also featuring the AcoustiContour™ anechoic surface

  • 2 x 5¼ inch drive bay Acoustic Foam blocks

  • 1 x 3½ inch drive bay Acoustic Foam block

AcoustiPack™ Deluxe Version 2

The pack dimensions are extremely generous, so it can even line the inside of the very largest cases - making this product ideal for larger-volume cases or for customers who require a very high standard of noise reduction. The three additional pre-cut rectangular blocks of acoustic foam are for insertion into suitable empty 3½ & 5¼ inch drive bays, which further help to reduce internal noise, and internal redundant air space. Comprehensive fitting instructions are included and are also available online in PDF format.

Product Reviews

"Fed up with the racket coming out of your PC? Put a self-adhesive sock in its mouth and shut it up for good! ...The process of fitting the AcoustiPack Deluxe into our test mini-tower took about 30 minutes and, subjectively, it seemed to deaden the sound down to about half it's previous level. If you fit whisper-quiet fans as well, your PC should be inaudible. When measuring the processor temperature via the BIOS display, the padding didn't make it run any hotter, even after a few hours use..." - PC Plus Magazine (UK) Review, May 2003 Issue 202

"The AcoustiPack is amazing. I cannot believe how well it does. Even though it costs even more than the case, I think it's worth it." - Silent PC Review

"It comes down to one simple question: Is the price worth what you get? The answer is simply Yes!" - TweakTown 8.5/10

AcoustiPack Pre-cut Kit For Antec Sonata

For pricing and availability, please click here or order at the top of the page

Acousti Products have produced a pre-cut set of acoustic materials especially designed for the Antec Sonata Super Midi Tower. The Sonata has been engineered with quiet operation in mind - with features such as a quiet Antec power supply, HDD mounting grommets to minimise vibrational case resonance, a solid case front, rubber feet, and an internal rear 120mm temperature-controlled case fan as standard (with gel fan mounts).

AcoustiPack™ Pre-cut Kit For Antec Sonata

The pre-cut AcoustiPack™ for the Antec Sonata adds to the sound dampening features built in to this case to help create a case that will run almost silently along with quiet components. The kit consists of five acoustic foam blocks, and six shaped pieces of acoustic composite, and a shaped plain acoustic barrier piece for the case floor. Some of the foam blocks are optional depending on how many internal components are installed. The acoustic foam pieces are designed to occupy unused void space inside the case, and serve to reduce internal volume and absorb internally generated noise. For example, fitting of one of the large blocks supplied into the void space under the HDD cage serves to 'duct' airflow from the front of the case through the HDD cage, therefore aiding HDD cooling.

The Antec Sonata case with pre-cut AcoustiPack soundproofing materials AP AntecSon from Acousti Products. The Sonata case has been designed by Antec with a number of quiet features to help towards building a quiet pc, and can be used with this acoustic materials accessory kit to help adsorb internal noise for even quieter end results.
PLEASE NOTE: The Antec Sonata case is not supplied with this acoustic material kit.

Fitting Recommendations & Tips

Once you have the pre-cut kit for the Antec Sonata, work out where each part fits in the case and fit ONLY in the order shown on the instructions because some parts will NOT fit if installed before others!

The first part in this kit is very tricky to locate and will need special care. It is best fitted by removing the power supply and perhaps any upper 5¼ inch drives and then turning the case up-side down. The trick is to slot the part into it's location without letting the self-adhesive stick prematurely. We have found it is easier to leave the optional rectangular 'push-out' (the one that fits behind the 'Antec' logo) in place and then remove it after fitting the entire piece rather than trying to fit this part after you have removed the 'push-out' rectangle (because the part becomes very floppy without the optional 'push-out').

We have found that removing only part of the backing sheet when fitting self-adhesive parts is the easiest way to fit them. For example, when fitting the self-adhesive door panel to the inside of the Sonata door - only peel back a small proportion of the backing sheet, locate the self-adhesive part against the hinge edge, and only when you are certain that the part location is correct proceed to peel back more of the backing sheet and stick more of the pre-cut material in place.

AcoustiPack Pre-cut Kit - ACC6607, material only

For pricing and availability, please click here or order at the top of the page

This pre-cut kit comes with the AcoustiCase™ C6607, and is also available separately. The kit fits a number of similar cases such as; the Antec SLK 3700 AMB and the Compucase 6A19, see below for more information.

Suitability

Antec SLK3700AMB

The AP C6607 kit fits this case well, except for the shaped air filter, which is not useable.

For full details see the review from SPCR below:

AcoustiPack™ Pre-cut Kit for the AC C6607 (called AP C6607) has been reviewed by Silent PC Review, fitted into a similar case to the AC C6607 - the Antec SLK 3700 AMB - "The AcoustiPack C6607 damping kit works well in the Antec SLK3700AMB case. The precut pieces fit perfectly, and are easily applied, even in a system that has already been built... I believe that in a resonant case, like an aluminum case for instance, its effects would be quite dramatic. On an already very quiet system, the improvements are more subtle, but for those seeking to shave every last decibel of noise from their systems, the AcoustiPack kit is worth using."

Compucase 6A19 (or LX-6A19)

The kit fits this case well, including the washable air filter for the front air intake. The case is very similar to the AC C6607, except for the rear case panel and the fan grill design. Therefore, the rear acoustic composite piece may not fit certain LX-6A19 case models (there are variations in the case design), and may require some modification.

AcoustiPack™ Pre-cut Kit For Antec SLK 3700 BQE Case

For pricing and availability, please click here or order at the top of the page

This product is a pre-cut set of acoustic materials especially designed for the Antec SLK3700 BQE (Black Quiet Edition) tower case. The pre-cut AcoustiPack™ for the BQE adds to the quiet features built in to this case to help create a case that will run almost silently along with other quiet components.

The kit consists of 5 acoustic foam blocks, and 11 shaped pieces of acoustic composite. The kit also contains an additional washable dust filter - which improves the air filtration on the existing air filter in the front of the case.

AcoustiPack™ Pre-cut Kit For Antec BQE

Some of the foam blocks are optional depending on how many internal components are installed. The acoustic foam pieces are designed to occupy unused void space inside the case, and serve to reduce internal case volume and absorb internal operational noise. For example, fitting of one of the large blocks supplied into the void area under the HDD cage (which is rotated 90° to 'normal' drive cage orientation) serves to 'duct' airflow from the front of the case through the HDD cage, therefore aiding HDD cooling by increasing air flow velocity.

The Antec SLK 3700 BQE (Black Quiet Edition) case shown with the AcoustiPack soundproofing materials kit APAntecBQE by Acousti Products. The BQE case has space for dual 120mm quiet cooling fans, and anti-vibration HDD mounts built in. Used with this pre-cut set of sound dampening materials, this PC case can used to build an even quieter PC by reducing unwanted noise 'breakout'.
PLEASE NOTE: The Antec SLK 3700 BQE case is not supplied with this acoustic material kit.

Fitting Recommendations & Tips

Once you have the pre-cut kit for the Antec SLK 3700 BQE, work out where each part fits in the case and fit ONLY in the order shown on the instructions because some parts will NOT fit if installed before others!

The washable air filter with the BQE kit requires a few cuts with scissors to separate it along the perforated 'L' shaped cut in it. This is fairly quick and easy to do.

AcoustiPack™ Pre-cut Kit For SFF Cases

For pricing and availability, please click here or order at the top of the page

This product is a 'generic' kit of 3 sheets of 4mm acoustic composite (compressible down to approx. 2.5mm) soundproofing material. The AP SFF kit is intended for Small Form Factor (SFF) cases, and it may also be suitable for Home Theatre PCs, set-top boxes, gaming consoles, and other small electrical units.

AcoustiPack™ Pre-cut Kit for Small Form Factor (SFF) cases

The 4mm composite material is made from a 1mm dense acoustic barrier layer, and a 3mm acoustic foam. The combination of our dense and thin barrier and the foam together make this an effective solution for noise reduction. The material is very easy to cut and shape, and flexible. Acousti have designed the soundproofing sheet dimensions (330 x 216mm) to be generous enough to line most SFF cases, such as the entire range of Shuttle PC cases. Materials can be used to line the case roof, sides and there should be enough left over for smaller areas inside the case.
