Quiet Fans
PC fans have been a necessity for some time now, as more powerful components generate increasing amounts of heat to be cooled. Now you can replace a standard noisy PC fan with a virtually silent alternative! Our comprehensive range of quiet fans is designed specifically to minimise the amount of noise being generated, whilst keeping the air moving at a sensible rate.
We have different thickness of fans available so please check each fan's specifications. All fans have 3-pin connectors (except the Scythe PWM fans which are 4-pin) for direct attachment to motherboard fan headers (pins). This allows the motherboard to read the fan's RPM (speed), and if supported, the motherboard can sound an alarm in the event of fan failure or obstruction. For customers who lack a sufficient number of motherboard fan headers, we would recommend using the Zalman Multi-Connector Cable ZM-MC1 to convert our 3-pin computer fans to a 4-pin connector or opt for the AcoustiFan™ DustPROOF Series, for connection to an available 4 pin connector from the power supply.
You can further decrease computer fan noise with our range of PC fan accessories for controlling fan speeds and reducing fan vibration.

Important: You will notice on our fan specification tables that all noise level (dBA) values are quoted for fans when they are running at full speed (12 volts). This is to ensure an "even playing field" and to make it easier to compare fans' noise levels and air throughputs. You will see from the low dBA figures that all the fans we sell are reasonably quiet, even at full speed. However, in practice all our fans can be made to run even more quietly by reducing their rotation speed using a fan controller or speed reduction resistor. Some fans are sold with these included in the box.
