QTechnology have broken the mould with their newest power supply. The QT-07400F Semi-Fanless PSU is different to their early PSUs in three major ways. Firstly the new PSU is semi-fanless, which means the fan will only switch on when the internal temperature of the PSU reaches its threshold of 85° and this will only be achieved if you are using most of the 400 watts. Secondly, the GOLD series PSUs from QTechnology use a large 120mm fan, the new Semi-Fanless PSU uses a 70mm fan. If you manage to get the fan to switch on, you will still be hard pressed to hear it, because it is that quiet! Finally, the whole PSU case has ventilation holes. The reason for this honeycomb structure is quite obvious; it helps the internal temperature of the PSU stay as low as possible by allowing as much airflow through the PSU without switching the internal 70mm fan on.
The PSU comes with all the connectors you would expect to power modern PCs, 1 x 6-pin PCI-E, 20 or 24-pin ATX connector, 4 x SATA power connectors, plus the usual. It also has dual 12V rails, Active PFC and is compliant with ATX12V v2.2.
