The Kama Cross is a strange looking CPU cooler. Scythe call this design "X Structure" and they claim that not only does it cool the CPU but it also cools surrounding components without any loss of airflow. Given the fact that the supplied 100mm fan blows air directly down towards the CPU and that the aluminium fins are designed in such a way to utilise this airflow and move it towards the motherboard components, you can certainly see why Scythe make this claim.
If the airflow or noise level supplied by the 100mm fan is not to your liking, then it is possible to exchange it with any 25mm thick 120mm fan. Scythe are kind enough to provide 120mm fan mounting holes on the cooler for such a scenario.
The cooler is compatible with a vast array of socket types. Intel's socket 478 and LGA775 and AMD's socket 754, 949, 939 and AM2 are all catered for.
