VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS...

Be careful if you intend to buy this for a socket 754, as it says it's compatible - but it's NOT compatible with all of them!

I originally wanted this for a PC Chips M860 I was upgrading - it doesn't fit. The physical BASE of the HSF would line up, however, the large aluminium frame overhangs the plastic clamp - and my motherboard has capacitors there which get in the way.

I then tried it in an old ASUS board & after much fiddling, (you have to take the clips out completely, not 'loosen' the screws as per instructions) I got it to fit.

Only the fan then wouldn't plug in, as the Asus board (and the PC Chips one) has 3 pin fan headers and this is a 4 pin fan. Again, capacitors in the way prevented me from just forcing it in.

I eventually solved these problems and got it to work - and it's really not very quiet at all! Better than the stock I replaced, but not by much.

Buying this turned out to be nothing but grief and a waste of money - I wish I'd gone for something else
