PCI-E 2.0 Support

HDMI Support

HDMI output works with Ubuntu & Panasonic TV - Audio too!
Great card for the price. Silent, of course, and temperature of card stays under 60 degrees celcius most of the time. I hooked up an HDMI cable (1.5m, HDMI v1.3) which I got for under a fiver on the web. Don’t pay more than this, there is no need. Unless you go for a really long 5m+ cable any hdmi cable should work. Don’t pay out 54 quid in Currys; it’s a rip off!
Anyway, I got HDMI 1080p AND AUDIO working fine on my TV. This card’s manual is a bit misleading, but in short, audio works so long as you connect the cable to the SPDIF output of your mobo and to this card. No need for DVI to HDMI adapter as HDMI port on card is all you need. I use Ubuntu Linux v9.04 (Jaunty) and the card just worked (with nVidia drivers) BUT, to get sound to work you need to tick the IEC958 box in addition to the IEC958 PCM Default box in the sound control panel thing. This ensures the SPDIF sound (Digital) works.
Great video card
I wanted a fanless videocard but was concerned that it would increase the case temperature - I was really pleasantly surprised that there was no noticeable difference. Lovely card, appears to be solidly built, and does exactly “what it says on the tin” - silently!
Excellent card
I bought this card for my PVR. I particularly needed the HDMI output to drive an HDTV. THE RESULTS HAVE BEEN EXCELLENT, installation a breeze and very good quality output.
HD from satellite and Blu-ray discs give fabulous quality, with rich life-like colours and smooth motion, sound routed by the SPDIF output through the HDMI lead means only the one connection to the TV.
My Vista scores increased from 3.0 and 3.3 for Gaming Graphics and Graphics to 5.0 and 5.3 respectively, perfect for my needs.
Just note that the SILENT!!! cooler takes up the first PCI slot, well worth the sacrifice for silence!
