If you are a regular visitor to our website you may be aware that around 18 months ago we had a DIY media center PC available, which proved to be extremely popular. We have decided to take that one step further, so allow us to introduce the Quiet PC HFX Ultimate Gaming Media Center System. Why is this the ultimate Media Center PC? Quite simply this is one of the best Media Center systems money can buy. Let us explain why!
The Theory
At Quiet PC we love media PCs but believe there’s no need to compromise on performance in the interests of silent running. So with the HFX Ultimate Gaming Media Center System we decided to design a media PC which would be great looking and powerful, yet essentially operate in complete silence. We put the very latest components through their paces and came up with a unique specification which we believe makes the best Media PC around.
The Components
The components used inside HFX Ultimate Gaming Media Center System have been chosen to do two things. Firstly, Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit and the Intel E6850 Core 2 Duo CPU are more than powerful enough to play any media files you can throw at them and secondly, due to the two MSI nVidia 8600GTS graphics cards configured in SLI, the system will be able to play any game at high resolution while maintaining good frame rates. The Noise
As mentioned previously we want the Ultimate Media Center System to operate essentially in complete silence. The images below show how seriously we take the issue of silence! Unfortunately it will be many years until a completely silent PC is available since there will always be some noise generated from the platters inside the hard drive.
The mCubed Classic chassis is designed with large heatsinks at each side of the case, allowing us to connect the heatpipes directly from the CPU and GPU to the large heatsinks. This process effectively allows you to keep the internal components cool with very little airflow. In fact the only fans installed in the system include one Noctua 120mm 800RPM fan which produces airflow over the CPU and surrounding motherboard components. The other fan is located in the QTechnology Semi-Fanless power supply. This fan is designed to switch on when the PSU temperature reaches 85°C, which is virtually never!

PLEASE NOTE - Each system is built to order and therefore we cannot offer next day delivery on this item. The build and burn-in process can take around two weeks so please bear this in mind. Finally if there are any slight modifications required (e.g., different hard drive or only one graphics card), please contact us and we will be happy to quote you a price. Due to the length of the nVidia's 8800 series graphics cards they can not be used in this system.
