Scythe Kama Angle Rev.B Ultra Quiet CPU Cooler
| Kama Angle Rev.B Ultra Quiet CPU Cooler [26 in stock] | £28.69 (£33.71 inc. VAT) |
With the vast majority of mid to high-end computers using 120mm exhaust fans and PSUs which incorporate 120mm fans, we (Quietpc.com) came up with a very simple CPU cooler design that would use these fans to help cool the CPU, rather than relying solely on a CPU fan. We approached Scythe with this idea who were more than happy to put our design through the preliminary stages of development. And now, 18 months later we are delighted to co-present you with a cooler that does exactly what our initial design set out to do.
Features
- Co-developed by Quietpc.com and Scythe
- Designed to use airflow from case and PSU fans
- Virtually silent, from only 6.4 dBA
- Can be rotated up to 360°
- Socket LGA1366, LGA1156, 478, LGA775, AM3, AM2+, AM2, 754, 939, 940 compatible
As already mentioned, the Kama Angle uses the airflow from the exhaust and power supply fan to aid cooling. The images below help to illustrate this. If the chassis has the PSU installed at the bottom of the case this is not a problem because most of the chassis designs that use this configuration allow the installation of another exhaust fan at the top of the case. The Kama Angle will therefore utilise that fan instead of the PSU fan.
The first image above shows the ideal position of the cooler and where to install the supplied 120mm fan. The second image shows the possibility of rotating the cooler in 90° increments if this is required. The cooler can be rotated a full 360°. The second image also shows alternative fan mounting positions. It is even possible to mount a total of three 120mm fans to the cooler, providing you have the space! All you need is another two 120mm fans and two pairs of fan clips.
From a noise point of view the Kama Angle is exceptional. The 120mm PWM fan only produces 6.4 dBA at its slowest setting but if you want to increase the performance of the cooler you can raise the fan speed by altering your motherboard's BIOS settings. Even at its maximum speed, the fan will never produce more than 24 dBA, which is still very quiet.
Taking the noise levels into consideration and given the fact the cooler will fit all major Intel and AMD processors, the Kama Angle has every angle covered (sorry!!) when it comes to cooling your CPU!!

Easy to install (apart from the fan clips being a bit fiddly to get right). It's reduced my CPU temperature by 5-6 degrees under full load and is extremely quiet. A great piece of kit.

Absolutely fabulous product. Sooo quiet, but very effective. Had to open my computer to check that it was actually spinning - it was so quiet that I thought it was not working. Recommended!

Just finished fitting this cooler and wow what a difference core temp dropped 12-15 degrees over stock phenom 9850 be cooler, worth every penny easy to install and really quiet. The only downside is had to lose side intake fan on my antec 902 case to be able to get side of case back on because this cooler is huge.

Had this delivered to work and everyone there wanted a look, with one common word, "wow".
Had to remove the motherboard from case in order to get access and dependant upon layout I had to move the RAM to a lower slot to make it fit, but still fantastic. Silent and upgradable

This is very quiet; even with WoW at full pelt I could not hear it. The installation is a bit fiddly. I had to make some small adjustments. It needs a big case. It is a bit too big for my current case, (guess what I am getting next). It's big, it's shiny - what more can I say?
