I'm using these on an external quad radiator and although not silent the noise is a very quiet whirring sound at full speed rather than the whine you get on many fans. They can also be slowed down by around 50% with no stuttering or motor noise and are then barely detectable whilst still delivering adequate cooling. Very impressed and wish I'd bought some of these earlier.
