Zalman ZM-HS100 Triple hot-swap drive bay expansion PCB for GS1000
| ZM-HS100 Triple hot-swap drive bay expansion PCB for GS1000 [19 in stock] | £19.57 (£22.99 inc. VAT) |
This easy to install printed circuit board (PCB) allows owners of Zalman's GS1000 gaming case to add three hot-swap hard drive bays.

Zalman ZM-HS100
On the front side of the board, there are three SATA/power ports which directly connect to up to three hard drives. Then on the other side, the HS100 has three SATA connectors which need to be connected to your motherboard/RAID card as you would normally connect any hard drives, plus two standard Molex 4-pin power sockets which are supplied from your PSU.
In its purest sense, "hot-swap" means that hard drives can be connected and removed without having to power down your PC. Please check to ensure that hot-swap is supported on your motherboard/RAID card and operating system before attempting this. If hot-swap is not supported by your hardware or operating system, the ZM-HS100 can still offer the convenience of being able to easily install and remove hard drives with the PC powered down, without having to open the PC case and plug/unplug SATA power and data cables.

These backplanes are very good but I personally find them far too expensive for what they are, especially as they do NOT have the new SATA power supply sockets. Without the new SATA power sockets, you can NOT hot-swap your drives because if you cut a drive's power using the Molex power cables you may find yourself with an instant reboot, dependant on your system board.
