Thermolab Bada 2010 Quiet CPU Cooler

The Bada 2010 CPU cooler represents a large step forward in compact, efficient CPU cooler design.

One of the key features of the ThermoLab Bada design that makes this heatsink different from the many others in the same price range is the use of direct touch heatpipe technology. This allows the heatpipes to make contact directly with the top surface of the CPU, which in turn allows the heat to be absorbed and dissipated much quicker.

Features

  1. Three 6mm diameter U-shaped heatpipes
  2. Direct touch heat pipe base for excellent heat transfer
  3. Supplied with a quiet 92mm PWM fan
  4. Compatible with Intel LGA1366/1155/1156/775 and AMD FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2

Performance

The relatively compact design of the cooler puts it firmly in the ‘medium’ sized category of CPU coolers which means that it can be used in limited space enclosures. The three 6mm thick U-shaped heatpipes and a direct touch base ensure that the heat from the processor is swiftly dissipated by the quiet 92 mm PWM fan. The fan is attached to the heatsink with rubber mounts and they also help to absorb any vibration from the fan for even quieter operation.

Compatibility

As is common practice for all Thermolab products, the Bada 2010 provides maximum compatibility with a wide range of sockets.

Awesome for a smaller case

,

Got this one for my CoolerMaster 343 case, which has a max heatsink height of 148mm. As this limits what size I can use, I chose this and am very happy with it - virtually silent and can cool my FX-8120 8 core @ 3.9ghz with no problem.

Great RAM clearance and although the installation instructions are difficult to follow (Youtube however explained it quite easily) I give this a 9 out of 10 :)

On a side note if you do not have very good VRM cooling a tower cooler like this can cause them to overheat as the stock cooler blows air over the VRMs by design. Keep that in mind because this cooler is normally for people with mATX cases and most mATX motherboards have no VRM heatsinks. My MB had no heatsinks so I attached a small fan to blow over them which stopped them throttling the CPU under load.
