We are delighted to announce that Zalman have produced a new flagship product - the CNPS9700-LED CPU cooler. To look at the cooler, you would think it is exactly the same as the hugely-successful CNPS9500-LED. But on closer inspection, you will soon notice that the cooler is about 20% bigger! Instead of using a 92mm fan like in the CNPS9500, the CNPS9700-LED has a huge 110mm fan!

The larger size of the cooler gives both an increase in airflow (due to the fan), and an increase in surface area (due to the fins). In combination, this gives unbeatable cooling performance. The cooler is multi-socket compatible, and comes not only with a Fanmate2 fan speed controller, but also Zalman's well-respected premium heatsink compound, ZM-STG1.

Features

  1. Similar design to CNPS9500 but with 110mm fan for even better performance
  2. Supplied with Zalman's thermal paste, ZM-STG1
  3. Compatible with Intel LGA775 and AMD's AM2/S754/S939/S940
  4. From only 19.5 dB(A)
  5. Fanmate 2 included

A BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF ENGINEERING

This cooler is a beautiful piece of engineering. It also looks cool (especially when running with its glowing blue LED), is extremely quiet even running at its max operating speed, which on my machine is 2636 rpm and more importantly has reduced the operating temp of my Athlon 64 FX 51 by a remarkable 13-15 degrees Celsius. The highest temp that I now record under load is a cool 40. To optimise cooling I have dispensed with the Fanmate speed adjuster and have connected the fan directly to my motherboard connector.

One thing however you must work out before you go for this cooler is whether or not it will fit YOUR motherboard. On my ASUS AK8N board I have installed the fan at 90 degrees to the recommended orientation. Fitting the cooler to my AMD 940 socket was relatively easy but I did have to resort to using a pair of 'chopsticks' to exert sufficient pressure on the locking clip to lock it in place. In conclusion I would highly recommend this Zalman without any reservations.
