Fan speed higher than stated
As mentioned by the previous reviewer, this fan runs a lot faster than stated (4300 rpm). In a cool and spacious environment, the fan rarely dropping below 5,000 rpm & often peaked at 6,000 rpm.
This leads the fan to be not as quiet as suggested in the spec but it's still a fairly quiet fan for a 40mm.
The best 40mm fan I've seen.
I bought this fan because I needed a fan for my motherboard's chipset. I have an ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, which has a passive chipset cooler with option to install a 40mm fan on it. Previously I have had bad experiences with 40mm fans. They were usually noisy and had low airflow, so I believed that all 40 mm fans were something to stay away from.
When this fan came I was really surprised in a positive way. It does emit a specific sound, but unless I am very close to the fan and actively listen to it, I can't hear it!
It also has a very good airflow.
One strange thing about it is that mine never got under 5000RPM, and usually its speed ranges between 5200 and 5900.
It came in a really small brown cardboard box which contained the fan and 4 screws.
